Freight Rates & Delivery Times — Logistics Bulletin as of 23/10/2025 | Inter-freight LLC

Inter-freight Logistics Department Report as of October 23, 2025

1. Delivery via the Baltics. Rate Movements. Departure Situation. Transit Times. Rail Dispatch from Klaipeda. Truck Dispatch from Klaipeda - news, nuances, situation at border crossings.

Rates for direct rail routes have increased by approximately $400 USD for both routes via Kazakhstan and via Zabaikalsk. The increase is linked to a general rise in costs and more complex logistics procedures on the route.

Transshipment times remain on average within 5-15 days via Kazakhstan and 5-16 days via Zabaikalsk.

Russia and Kazakhstan continue to strengthen checks on import documentation, with particular attention paid to SGR (State Registration Certificates), import licenses, veterinary and phytosanitary certificates. All necessary permits must be provided before the container departs to avoid delays en route.

2. Delivery via the Far East. Rate Movements. Departure Situation from Ports. Rail Placement. Transit Times. Nuances.

Rail rates are generally holding steady, however, a number of carriers have already raised tariffs for upcoming departures due to growing demand. Rates are expected to potentially increase in November following the withdrawal of the STF line from the market and a reduction in available slots with other operators.

Wait times for train departures remain within 12-15 days from Vostochny Port (VMTP) and 12-14 days from VSC. Following the STF bankruptcy, a significant number of vessel calls have been canceled, leading to shipments being shifted to other lines and a temporary shortage of slots. Departures are being rescheduled to weeks 45-46.

Rail placement via Vostochny Port remains stable. Shipments from Nakhodka are scheduled every 15 days, from Vostochny Port - weekly. Due to carrier changes and redistribution of flows, delays in vessel arrival at the port of discharge of 10-15 days are possible.

3. Direct Rail. Rate Movements. Departure Situation. Situation at Border Crossings. Transit Times.

In the second half of October, sea freight rates are showing a slight increase: approximately $50 USD for 20' containers and about $100 USD for 40' containers. Average delivery times are 50-55 days, however, due to vessel departures being shifted by 3-4 days, the transit time can reach 65 days in some cases.

Rail dispatch on the Klaipeda-Shabany route remains unchanged: delivery to the station takes up to 10 days after the container arrives at the port, followed by about 3 days for maintenance and dispatch, empty container return - up to 7 days. The port and railway are operating rhythmically, with sufficient rolling stock.

The situation for truck dispatch is stable. Customs clearance takes about 2 days, empty return - up to 20 days. Border crossing towards the Republic of Belarus takes about 2 days. Queues for exiting the country have increased: at Kamenny Log - about 800 trucks, at Benyakoni - about 690, while the daily throughput capacity remains at 40 vehicles towards Lithuania.

4. Delivery via Novorossiysk. Rate Movements. Departure Situation. Transit Times. Nuances.

Sea freight rates for 20' and 40' containers remain without significant changes.

Delivery times, including transshipment, remain stable for all routes.

Dispatch of containers by truck and tautliners to Minsk is proceeding normally, however, this week customs inspections and checks have been intensified for a number of product categories, particularly for auto parts in transit, which may lead to minor clearance delays.

Otherwise, the situation is stable: transport is available, cargo handling is proceeding as planned.

5. Delivery via St. Petersburg. Rate Movements. Departure Situation. Transit Times. Nuances.

Sea freight rates for 20' and 40' containers remain unchanged.

Delivery times from Chinese ports are 45-50 days.

Container truck dispatch to Minsk is proceeding normally: finding a vehicle takes 1-2 days, transit clearance - 1-2 days, transit time - up to 2 days. Cost and transport availability are without significant changes.

Tautliner shipments are performed according to standard timelines: 3-5 days for transloading and clearance, cargo preparation required at least 3 days in advance.

6. Truck Delivery of Cargo from China. News. Nuances. Situation regarding dispatch of consolidated shipments to Temporary Storage Warehouses.

On the LTL route, an increase in rates and longer delivery times are noted – delivery now takes 35-40 days from cargo pickup. The increase is linked to a shortage of trucks and unstable rates, which are changing almost daily.

On the FTL route, a further rate increase is observed against the backdrop of a truck shortage in Manchuria. Delivery times are up to 25 calendar days. Inspections at the Alashankou crossing are proceeding normally, truck transport is available, but the general trend is a gradual increase in rates across all routes.
