Direct Rail. Rate Movements. Exit Situation. Border Crossing Situation. Transit Times.
For direct rail shipments at the Moscow hub station through Kazakhstan, rates have increased by approximately USD 350, while rates through Zabaikalsk remain unchanged. Overall, the rate situation remains relatively stable.
There are delays in train departures and inconsistencies in railway administration plans, which may impact the departure schedule.
Current transshipment times at the border are:
– through Manchuria – approximately 15 days, with ongoing congestion, which may lead to increased transit times through China and a delay in departure dates;
– through Erlian – an average of 7-10 days, moderate congestion;
– Via Khorgos – approximately 7-15 days, with congestion persisting;
– Via Alashankou – approximately 5-10 days.
At the Moscow hub, PRR and removal are operating normally. Container removal takes 1-2 days. Effective August 1, the Kupavna station increased terminal handling rates for containers arriving as VTT and GTD by approximately 15%.
The road transport market remains stable. Most direct carriers have already registered in the system for issuing ETRN and are ready to test the new transport invoice format.

Delivery via the Far East. Rate movement. Departures from ports. Railroad placement. Transit times. Nuances.
Rail freight rates for both 20' and 40' containers at the Moscow hub station remain unchanged for the Far East. Transit times remain in the 40-45 day range. There are slight delays in vessel departures due to the effects of Typhoon Dolphin, which may impact the overall delivery schedule.
Some major Chinese ports continue to experience a shortage of 40-foot containers. On many routes, the next available slots are offered as early as late August or early September, so it is recommended to plan shipments in advance.

Delivery via the Baltics. Rate movements. Departure status. Transit times. Rail pickup from Klaipeda. Road pickup from Klaipeda.
A sharp increase in rates has been recorded for sea shipments from China via Novorossiysk. For 20-foot containers, the increase is approximately USD 1,400, and for 40-foot containers, approximately USD 2,750. Transit times have increased to 60-65 days.
Service to Novorossiysk is currently partially suspended due to the escalating situation in the Black Sea. Some lines have stopped calling at Novorossiysk, while others are changing routes. In particular, FESCO and Ametist have suspended services, while Akcon is rerouting containers to St. Petersburg ports. War risk surcharges are also being introduced for cargo in transit and new shipments. The situation remains tense, and additional notifications from shipping lines are expected.
Container shipments to Moscow are operating normally, but rates remain unstable, with a validity of approximately one week. There is also a shortage of trucks for curtain-sided transport, especially on the Moscow route, which continues to put pressure on shipping costs.

Delivery via Novorossiysk. Rate movement. Departure situation. Transit times. Nuances.
For delivery via St. Petersburg, rates for the sea portion remain unchanged for both 20' and 40' containers. Transit times for direct service are approximately 45-50 days.
However, the possibility of rate increases remains due to the current situation in Novorossiysk. Service via the NSR is also available, but it is important to consider the specifics of the route: low temperatures, high humidity, and restrictions on the transportation of hazardous cargo. There are minor delays in vessel departures due to the effects of Typhoon Dolphin.
Container pickups in the Moscow direction are proceeding as usual. Carriers continue to report fuel issues and are not prepared to lock in rates for a long period – rates are valid for a maximum of 2-3 weeks.
Local container pickups in St. Petersburg are also proceeding as usual. The fuel situation continues to impact the market: carriers are limiting the validity of rates to 2-3 weeks.

Cargo Trucking. News. Details. Situation with the removal of consolidated cargo to temporary storage warehouses.
Rates for less-than-truckload (LTL) trucking from China remain unchanged. The estimated transit time is 25-35 days.
For FTL shipments from China, the transit time is up to 25 calendar days. No significant rate changes have been noted. The situation on the FTL route from Europe remains generally stable. However, there has been a significant deterioration in the situation from Turkey: not a single vessel has departed the country in the past week, and some cargo is being rerouted via Iran. This is leading to longer delivery times and higher rates on the Turkish route.
