Freight Rates & Delivery Times — Logistics Bulletin as of 05/09/2025 | Inter-freight LLC

Inter-freight Logistics Department Report as of September 5, 2025

1. Shipping via the Baltics. Rate movements. Departure situation. Transit times. Rail evacuation from Klaipėda. Truck evacuation from Klaipėda news, nuances, situation at border crossings.

On the route via Klaipėda, a rate decrease of approximately 300 USD for 20-foot containers and 600 USD for 40-foot containers has been recorded. Delivery times remain at 50–55 days, vessel departures are shifting by an average of 3–4 days. Lines are limiting the acceptance of heavy 20' GP, preferring light ones, which, against the backdrop of rising demand, leads to regular booking postponements.

Rail evacuation to Shabany station operates within the previous timeframes, however the situation is complicated by the EU's 18th sanctions package: the list of prohibited cargo has been expanded, delivery under old contracts is impossible, requiring return or finding alternative routes. At the same time, there is sufficient rolling stock, and the infrastructure is functioning stably.

Truck evacuation remains unchanged as well: customs clearance takes about two days, empty return takes up to ten. Towards Belarus, border crossing takes one day and proceeds without queues. Congestion is reported towards Lithuania — about 360 trucks at Kamenny Log and 270 at Benyakoni, with a daily capacity of about 50 trucks.

2. Shipping via the Far East. Rate movements. Departure situation from ports. Rail placement. Transit times. Nuances.

Rates to Minsk remain at the level of the previous period.

Minor delays of 1–2 days are observed in container departures from Chinese ports, caused by typhoons. The container processing time for loading is 5 days and proceeds without delays. At Vostochny Port, shipment occurs within 6 days, at Vostochny — within 8–10 days.

Rapid accumulation of cargo base and active supply of fitting platforms is noted. The main commodities are chemical products, including dangerous goods, as well as auto parts.

3. Direct Rail. Rate movements. Departure situation. Situation at border crossings. Transit times.

For direct rail services, a rate increase is noted: via Kazakhstan — about 450 USD, via Zabaikalsk — approximately 300 USD. Transshipment times via Kazakhstan have increased to 22 days, via Zabaikalsk remain within 7–17 days.

From August 1, 2025, a stricter inspection policy for a number of export goods has been introduced at stations of departure in China: children's toys, lighting fixtures, low-voltage electrical appliances, and functional clothing. Additionally, construction works are underway on the Altynkol–Zhetygen and Otar–Almaty sections, which limits train movement and platform supply, exacerbating transshipment times.

4. Shipping via Novorossiysk. Rate movements. Departure situation. Transit times. Nuances.

Ocean rates remain unchanged, however a gradual increase in direct sea prices is noted. Delivery times including transshipment remain at 45–50 days.

Organization of truck evacuation by container trucks to Minsk is also unchanged. Tent (van) trucking requires reloading via a warehouse (about 235–240 thousand rubles) or in the port (approximately 200 thousand rubles) and faces a chronic shortage of transport.

An acute shortage of tent (van) trucks is reported, which limits shipment efficiency.

5. Shipping via St. Petersburg. Rate movements. Departure situation. Transit times. Nuances.

Rates remain at the level of the previous period: on the northern route, 20-foot and 40-foot containers maintain their values, on the southern route, 20-foot and 40-foot are also unchanged. Delivery times are 30–35 days for the northern direction and 45–50 days for the southern. The peak of the shipping season is in September, all vessels are almost fully loaded with projects. The Northern Sea Route is operating longer than usual, vessel departures continue throughout the month.

Truck evacuation by container trucks to Minsk is performed according to standard timelines: finding transport takes 1–2 days, transit clearance — 1–3 days, travel time — 1–2 days. High load at the KTSP terminal increases transit declaration clearance times to 1–2 days, the PKT/PLP terminals process declarations in 1 day.

Tent (van) trucking requires 3–5 days for reloading and clearance, cargo preparation takes a minimum of 3 days. Evacuation to Kolyadichi is possible day-of. There are no significant changes in transport availability.

6. Trucking of cargo from China. News. Nuances. Situation regarding LTL assembly evacuation to temporary storage warehouses (TSW).

LTL assemblies on the China direction show a rate decrease of approximately 30 USD. Delivery times remain up to 30 days from the moment of cargo pickup from the shipper.

FTL shipments show mixed dynamics: via Zabaikalsk an increase of approximately 200–600 USD, via Alashankou a decrease of about 500–800 USD depending on the destination. Delivery times are 20–25 days from the moment of cargo pickup.

Mixed dynamics are observed on main routes: rates via Zabaikalsk and Kazakhstan by rail have increased, while on sea routes and for LTL assemblies a decrease is observed.

Delivery times remain stable with minor fluctuations caused by weather factors, construction works, and terminal congestion. The shortage of tent (van) trucks persists.

FTL shipments show mixed rate movements, with a gradual recovery and price increase expected due to seasonal demand growth.
